Description

Day 1: Arrive in Vilnius Orientation walk to familiarize yourself with the city, and tour leader-hosted welcome dinner with fellow travelers. Day 2: Vilnius & Trakai Guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Vilnius. Visit the historic market hall to taste local produce. Hike from the scenic rock exposure down Vilnia Valley to catch the train to Trakai. Light hike along the picturesque lake and visit the stunning red brick island castle. Day 3: The Highlands Climb the observation tower for views of forests and lakes. Discover authentic villages and a unique beekeeping museum. Enjoy a traditional home-hosted lunch and a leisurely kayaking trip. Relax with a delicious dinner with local berry wine tasting. Day 4: Backroad Discoveries Cycle along River Sventoji. Discover the gigantic boulder and climb the impressive tree canopy bridge. Devour a local lunch in a family-owned cafe and see the beautiful castle of Birzai. Visit the karst lake region and enjoy the view from the observation tower. In Riga, join the orientation walk and dine in a local restaurant showcasing Latvian cooking. Day 5: Riga & Jurmala Discover the highlights of the Baltic Metropolis on a guided tour. Walking along the picturesque canal, reach the Art Nouveau district, the world’s largest open-air museum of ornate facades. Take the streetcar to Riga Central Market, Europe’s premier grocery mecca. In Agenskalns, explore the city’s decadent wooden architecture and cycle to Jurmala, Latvia’s historic beach resort. Day 6: Gauja National Park Visit a medieval castle, ride the aerial tramway, and hike the cave-dotted trail. In Ligatne, a historical paper mill village with wooden row houses, visit the fallout shelter for top Soviet officials, hidden under a health resort. Evening in Cesis, a laid-back town with an impressive Livonian castle. Enjoy our hosted dinner in the country’s oldest wooden manor, surrounded by bicentennial oaks. Day 7: Estonian Bogs Experience a forest hike along some of the largest sandstone rocks in the area and visit a hemp farm for tasting. In Mazsalaca, hike along the river Salaca and its rocky shores. Reach Soomaa National Park for a hike to the Kuresoo bog. Learn about cider and winemaking at the local workshop. Day 8: Seaside Resort Experience & Nordic Walking Morning with sauna and homemade breakfast. Head to Parnu for a refreshing hike on the coastal marsh boardwalk, followed by a bike ride along the beach. Make your way to Tallinn for a panoramic sightseeing tour and Nordic Walking experience along Tallinn Bay and Kadriorg Park. Day 9: Explore Tallinn Get to know Tallinn’s highlights during a guided tour. Coffee break at the city’s oldest cafe, tasting their handcrafted marzipan. Signature ‘hidden gems’ walk for that ‘behind the scenes’ feel of the city. Enjoy a gourmet dinner on the waterfront as a thank-you for joining this ultimate Baltic Adventure.
