Description
Visit the studio to experience real analog photography. You will create a portrait on your chosen historical media using vintage cameras. Digital scanning is available if you want a digital copy.
If you do not select a specific option, the photographer will choose the equipment for you on the day, typically silver gelatin paper. Occasionally, options include dry plate tintypes or glass plates, similar to wet plate tintype and ambrotype techniques but using gelatin instead of collodion.
The photographer has over 20 years of experience with analog processes and a renewed passion for chemical photography after extensive digital work. This session encourages slowing down and appreciating the unpredictable results of traditional methods.
This photoshoot is experimental, inviting you to join and explore historical photographic techniques with an element of chance in the outcome.
Includes
- A portrait on a large format silver gelatin paper negative (9x12 cm or 13x18 cm / 5x7 in) for each participant and the group together
