Description
Depart Riga by car and drive to Pokaini forest, known for its unique stone formations and sacred history. The forest features a high concentration of unusual stones that have attracted attention for centuries due to their mysterious qualities.
Take a guided hike to explore these intriguing rocks and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This area is often referred to as the Latvian Stonehenge, offering an interesting experience even for sceptical visitors.
On the return trip, visit the Dobele castle ruins. Explore inside the castle (when open) and the outside grounds, which offer views over the Berze river.
The final stop is Nakotne Park, where you can explore a workshop area displaying motorcycles, bicycles, and various antiques. This interactive stop allows you to handle many items and learn about their history. Organic teas and local cornflakes are available for tasting and purchase.
Please note: visiting the park and workshop requires prior reservation and is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. If lucky, you may witness a helicopter landing at the park.
