Description
The tour begins with a drive from Riga to Augstkalne, Latvia, where you can purchase food or drinks before continuing to the kayak launch point on the Latvian side of the border.
Participants must be able to swim. Kayaking is done on calm waters suitable for beginners. Wearing a life jacket is mandatory by Latvian law, and all equipment, including life jackets, seats, paddles, waterproof storage, and luggage nets, is provided.
Because the tour crosses an international border, carrying valid ID cards and passports is required.
After kayaking, the group visits a Lithuanian border village where you can explore the town and optionally purchase stone oven-baked pizza or bagels (costs not included and subject to availability).
