Description
This private tour explores Kuldiga, a medieval town in the Kurzeme region, located 130 km from Riga. Kuldiga’s narrow streets and well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century houses with red roof tiles highlight the town’s authentic historical character.
Kuldiga’s original planning and architecture reflect local building traditions from the 17th and 18th centuries, which earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Several films have been shot here. The tour includes a visit to the picturesque historical center, a walk along one of Europe’s longest old bridges, and viewing the Venta River waterfall, which spans approximately 250 meters wide.
On the way to Kuldiga, the tour stops at Sabile, home to Europe’s northernmost open-air vineyard, recognized by the Guinness World Records. Sabile also features the Garden of Dolls, an outdoor exhibition displaying life-size dolls dressed in various costumes depicting everyday life scenes.
The tour offers a full door-to-door experience with hotel pick-up and drop-off at any location in Riga upon request. For last-minute bookings, please contact the provider to confirm availability and weather conditions at +371 2915 7410.
